Panel Board Fabricators

A Panel Board Fabricator is responsible for building, assembling, and finishing electrical panel boards and their enclosures used in power distribution and control systems. This role is hands‑on, workshop‑based, and closely linked to both mechanical fabrication and basic electrical work.With minimum 3-4 years of experience in fabrication of Panel boards/Sheet metal work.

Key Skills and responsibilities

  • ITI / Diploma in Fitter, Fabrication, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent trade qualification preferred.
  • 2–5 years experience in electrical panel board fabrication (LT/HT panels, control panels, AMF, PCC/MCC, etc.) is usually required for independent work.
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings, panel GA drawings, and basic electrical layouts.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, GA drawings, and basic electrical layouts for panel boards.
  • Cut, bend, drill, and punch sheet metal and sections to fabricate panel bodies, doors, gland plates, and supports.
  • Assemble and fit doors, hinges, locks, gaskets, mounting plates, cable entry plates, and accessories.
  • Fabricate and install busbars and support insulators as per drawings, maintaining correct clearances and dimensions.
  • Use hand tools and power tools (drills, grinders, punches, riveters, tapping tools, etc.) safely and efficiently.

Panel Board Electrition

A Panel Board Electrician is responsible for wiring, testing, and troubleshooting electrical panel boards used for power distribution and control in industrial, commercial, and building projects. The role focuses on safe, accurate wiring as per drawings and standards.

Key Skills and responsibilities

  • ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Experience in panel wiring for LT distribution boards, MCC/PCC, control panels, or automation panels (freshers can start as helpers).
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and terminal schedules.
  • Good knowledge of cable types, lugs, crimping, ferruling, and use of multimeter/megger..
  • Basic understanding of electrical protection, earthing, and load distribution.
  • Carry out internal wiring of power circuits and control circuits inside panels using specified cable sizes and colours.
  • Mount and connect MCCBs, MCBs, ACBs, contactors, overload relays, timers, indicators, meters, CTs, and terminal blocks.
